A Note on Panel Depth & Air Gaps
All Balanced Acoustics wall panels are designed with an integrated rear air gap. This air gap is a deliberate acoustic feature and forms part of the panel's overall depth.
The air gap allows sound waves to interact with the absorber more effectively, improving low-frequency performance without requiring additional material density. In most applications, a correctly sized air gap can provide greater acoustic benefit than simply filling the entire depth with insulation.
This design is based on established acoustic treatment principles and is incorporated into all of our standard panel designs unless otherwise specified.
